How about saving money? One good reason to join clubs and meet others with similar interests is the idea of the "group buy". This is the idea of purchasing things in quantity, either from a wholesaler or with a quantity discount from a retailer. This can work for fish food, for aquaria, and for big ticket items like aquacultural air pumps and artemia hatcheries. Even odd things, like irrigation drip valves that can be used for fish room water drip or air systems go from $3 or $4 each to a dollar in a bag of 50. The best versions of this group buy make it a benefit of the club, with the club getting publicity and a small cut of the money.
