While the GFSA can hardly be called a "cutting edge" electronic organization, the goldfish hobby has aggressively embraced the Internet and is bringing the GFSA with it. GFSA events have been routinely publicized through the Internet since 1997 and much society business is conducted via email.
The GFSA has also used the Internet to try and gather information to help improve the society and to deliver new services. Two examples are below:
