The GFSA April 2000 Convention

The Goldfish Society of America is organizing a show and convention for the weekend of April 28th, 29th and 30th, 2000. The location is the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. There will be a reception Friday evening, a featured lecture on Saturday evening, a show, auction, behind-the-scenes tours of zoo operations, and many more events. There will also be a number of US goldfish farms and dealers present, selling their fish.

As of this writing, the event is still evolving, with new activities and participants being added to the event. There is a lot of pent-up demand in the US for a national-level goldfish convention, so this will probably be a very popular event. As a rough measure, the entire block of reserved hotel rooms (110 of them) were sold out by the end of November 1999, almost 5 months before the convention. More rooms have been added and I would expect cancellation availability as the time draws nearer, but there is certainly strong early interest!

I look forward to seeing you all in Cleveland!
